Shanbo Jack

Shanbo Jack – 14.1hh – Connemara Gelding – Foaled 21 May 2016

Jack was imported from Ireland by Sally in July 2020.

This extremely smart gelding is very true to type and displays many of the characteristics one would expect to find in a top-class Connemara.  His superbly well-balanced conformation and neat head with a kind, intelligent eye are real trademarks of the breed and as such he is likely to be the judge’s darling in the show ring; that is if showing happens to be the calling of his new owner!

If showing is not your thing however, Jack’s blatant athleticism and trainable temperament are sure to see you through in whichever discipline takes your fancy.

As he is a short coupled, finer type, Jack would be the perfect fit for a capable teenager or a lightweight adult rider.

Under saddle, Jack is a forward thinking and sensitive yet polite, finger-tip ride. Truly an unspoiled canvas on the flat, Jack has good basic paces and an excellent attitude to his work but the scope is there for his new owner to improve upon this and truly make him their own.

Testament to the super work ethic the Connemara pony is renowned for, Jack is also showing real promise in the jumping arena. Although currently jumping single fences, he shows great aptitude over his fences and is jumping uprights and oxers with a good technique.

Outside of the arena, Jack’s uncomplicated nature is still abundantly clear. He has hacked out well round the wide, open spaces of our fields without blotting his copybook once!

Also level headed and reliable on the ground, Jack is a pleasure to handle and do in all regards.

The versatility of the Connemara really shines through with this lad, who shows all the makings of a classy all-rounder. Whilst he has the looks, brains and ability to do well in working hunter classes, he also shows more than enough scope to become a super ladies hunter or unaffiliated show jumping pony.

Ready for his next home where he can build a lasting relationship with his lucky new owner; Jack is sure to progress in leaps and bounds with the one on one attention you won’t be able to stop yourself lavishing upon him!

The total package, Queenbridge has three super paces and is obedient off the leg with an athletic way of going, working nicely on the flat. She also shows good scope over show jumps and pops coloured poles in a positive but relaxed way.

Gallon Ray Star – 14hh Roan Pony – Gelding

14hh Roan Gelding, Year of birth 2014

Gallon Ray Star aka Star was imported from Ireland by Sally 0n 26th November 2019.

A real head turner with his gorgeous roan colouring, Star is the type that every little rider imagines when they picture their dream pony. The quintessential Pony Club pony/all-rounder, Star is a snaffle mouthed stunner, capable of turning a hoof to anything!

Forward going and so eager to please, Star would make a perfect second pony. As he naturally sits in front of the leg without being ‘whizzy’, he would be the perfect step up for a child coming off their first pony and wanting to progress with their riding.

Whilst Star works very sweetly on the flat and would certainly be capable of producing an obedient dressage test, his real talents lie in the jumping arena! Currently popping round a course of show jumps set at 80cm, he has a superb clean jumping technique and rarely touches a pole. As such he is sure to be great fun at shows as he is bound to produce double clears time after time.

Star carries this keen but level headed attitude out onto the cross-country course, where he is a bold, forward ride but remains impeccably snaffle mouthed! An absolute dream to ride cross-country, he never second guesses his rider or produces a moment’s hesitation to his fences, and as such he is truly incredibly confidence giving. He really gives the feeling that he would take on anything but without any of the fireworks you would usually associate with a good jumping pony!

With this jumping and cross-country prowess, Star would make an ideal working hunter pony.

Whilst he is sure to be in the ribbons wherever he goes, if his new jockey is more content to explore the countryside with their equine companion, he would also fit the bill for a hacking home as he is a safe, snaffle mouthed hack both on and off road.

It is clear that Star can be trusted to look after your child whilst they are on his back, but one of the best things about this pony is that he is so good to handle on the ground too. He has an amazingly sweet, even tempered nature which makes him a doddle to catch, lead, groom and tack up. He is also incredibly polite to clip and to shoe.

This smashing gelding really would be a ‘Star’ addition to any family!
