Rosie’s pictures do not do her any justice – she is bigger than she appears in these photographs!

Rosie was imported from Ireland by Sally in September 2017.

In the short time that she has been here she has certainly made an impact! She is probably the best loved pony on the yard. This is thanks to her adorable looks, wonderful temperament, and lively yet super safe way of going when ridden.

Rosie is a real leg at each corner type of pony and feels very comfortable and secure under saddle. She is a really fun ride and is absolutely adored by our younger riders, so she is frequently requested for lessons and for pony days! She really enjoys her work in the arena and has the most wonderful working trot. She is like a little sewing machine and stays in a super rhythm. This, together with her responsiveness, makes Rosie an easy and enjoyable ride on the flat.

This really special pony also loves her jumping. It is such a treat to see her tackle her fences with gusto and with her ears pricked, so I often stop on my way past the school to watch her lessons! Rosie jumps a small course of show jumps with great enthusiasm and a really sweet technique.

Due to all the rain we have had this winter we haven’t had the chance to test her out on the cross country course yet, however I am certain that she will take to cross country jumps like a duck to water!

Having seen her working out in the fields, she was keen but had brakes! She worked well both up and down the gears, listening well to her rider despite the obvious temptation of a wide open space! I am confident she will make a wonderful hack.

The cherry on top is Rosie’s gorgeous nature on the ground. She is really easy to handle and will stand quietly to be groomed and tacked up without any fuss.

It is this trainable temperament, super work ethic and sunny, positive outlook on life which all combine to make her an exceptionally lovely pony. She would be superbly matched with a keen young jockey for Pony Club activities.
