14.1HH Piebald Gelding, Year of birth 2008
This handsome gelding arrived at Riding Farm in May 2016.
With his long flowing mane and eye catching piebald colouring, Monday is a real head turner and would certainly grab the judge’s attention in ridden cob or coloured classes.
Monday is a responsive, intelligent ride on the flat. Quick to respond to his rider’s aids, he is forward thinking but safe and has a lovely rhythmical trot. Capable of producing a smashing medium trot, he works like a sewing machine into a soft contact.
Monday also has a super pop in him and is able to produce a splendid shape over his fences. He popped a 65cm course of show jumps including spreads and fillers with ease and has the power and scope to open up over the jump without ever getting strong, staying in a balanced tempo on both take-off and landing.
He jumped very similarly out on the cross country course, popping a variety of fences without any fuss and didn’t light up just because he was out in the open!
The same was true out hacking in our fields, where he worked beautifully for his rider up and down the paces. Despite the obvious temptation of the miles of stubble, he didn’t once take advantage of his rider and was very well behaved.
He was an angel when hacking out on the lanes, letting the traffic rumble past him without showing any worry.
This super all-rounder also mooched up and down our bridlepath on a loose rein.
Easy to groom lead and tack up, perhaps this pony would be better off having his name changed to Friday, as he’ll certainly give his new owner that Friday feeling!
Monday can be territorial when turned out in the field and would suit gelding only turnout.
