Fethard Faye – 15.3hh Mare

15.3hh Bay Mare, Year of birth 2010

Faye was imported from Ireland by Sally in March 2016.

This smashing mare has a beautifully even temperament that would make her the perfect partner for a novice purchasing their first horse, or for a more experienced rider that has had a knock in confidence.

Totally unflappable, she stands steady as a rock to be mounted and lets her rider fiddle around with stirrups and girths with unending patience!

Faye always tries her best to please her rider and is an easy, relaxed ride on the flat.

She is so versatile, as she is safe and quiet enough to be ridden by total novices, but is also suitable for those with more experience. Here at Riding Farm, she is used on the riding school for both complete beginner lessons, and for riders starting to learn to jump a course of fences – and for everything in between!

Faye is happy to amble around a little course of show jumps and is not at all concerned by fillers or brightly coloured poles and so gives a really safe feeling around a course.

She was exactly the same to ride out on our cross country course as she was in the arena – still very placid and obedient despite the strong winds we had when photographing! She popped a variety of solid obstacles without any fuss and is definitely at home, jumping natural fences!

A truly delightful hack, Faye worked really sweetly out in our fields, never giving her rider any cause for concern. The fact that our Instructors pick her as the lead horse, for our group hacks is testament to her totally solid, dependable nature!

She is not at all spooky out on the road, and in fact, she was as good as gold, standing very quietly to let traffic past.

So easy to catch, groom and tack up, this quiet, sweet natured mare does not have a bad bone in her body. She didn’t move a muscle whilst she was plaited even whilst I wobbled around on a bucket next to her! She really is such a good girl and has so much to give to her new owner.

Having showed no symptoms prior, in July of 2017 Faye suddenly contracted Sweet Itch. However, her price reflects this.

Faye is sold with a Leisure Horse Ireland passport.
